Kingston by Night 5k
12 October 2019
The Kingston By Night & Kingston Canter - race brief update.
The Kingston By Night & Kingston Canter Cross Country run, in partnership with Kingston Maurward is about having fun, being social and exploring the outdoors.
This brand new, totally traffic-free race is contained within the grounds of Kingston Maurward College.
The scenic route takes you on mixed terrain, but mostly on grass, paths and trails and follows a picturesque path around the lake.
Whether you’re an experienced off-roader, first-time runner looking for an adventure or even if you’d rather walk than run, then you’re more than welcome, you’ll be able to choose either our 1 loop 5k, 2 loops 10k (Saturday and Sunday) or the 4 loop Half Marathon Canter route (Sunday Only)
Dressing up (if that’s your thing) having fun and giving it your best shot is a must for this event. The minimum age for the event will be 15
Both Kingston races will be well signed, have a friendly atmosphere, are chip timed, have awesome marshals and be loads of fun.
Plenty of free parking.
Please follow the direction given to you by the marshals so you park in the correct place, once the race starts the roads around the house will be closed. Please leave as directed by the marshals.
Refreshments on site.

Weather, look up, that’s what we have - or you can look at the BBC update here -
https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2651101
Footwear - this run is almost totally off road, there are fields that have had cattle and sheep (poo) in plus an odd stream or two so wear something for the trails not track.
Feed station - there is one on route that will have water, coke, sweets n stuff - this will be staffed by volunteers from The Will Mackaness Trust - please thank them as you run round x you could also donate here http://www.willmackanesstrust.org.uk/
Medics - Whitehorse medics will be in attendance in case you don’t use your HD eyes in the middle of your head and trip over a tree route or something less pleasant.
Once again - torches and hi viz for Saturday - please make sure you have both - no torch = no run.
This is a unique opportunity to run around these grounds so please be very mindful of litter and your actions on the land. Anyone seen littering will be DQ’d and poked with a stick!
We hope you have a great time, it’s all about the fun stuff at this event.
Times will be online at Full On Sport as soon as the race starts - there are winners prizes for the top 3 males and females in each race. There are no age group awards.
Free photographs will be on our Facebook page after each event. Stay safe and we will see you all at the weekend.
