WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT -
Welcome to the NEW All Improved Dirty Devil Stampede 5k Fun Run
We have re-jigged the Dirty Devil format a little to give everyone the best of whats on offer at Bovington - from 2019 onwards, we will be having (This Race)The Dirty Devil Stampede 5k Fun Run on the Saturday for Families, youngsters and people wanting to try a mud run for the first time without the marauding hordes - So Saturday will be a more open and friendly affair to drag your small child by the hand around a tank training facility because you want to jump through puddles!! We get it.... :)
And the Sunday race will be split in to two events - The Dirty Devil Stampede 10k and The Dirty Devil Double - yes, twice round for the Half Marathon distance for the more demanding and down right dirty runner! :) Link for these race are here (we hope!) - 10k - DOUBLE To race on the Sunday you must be 15 or over.
So Welcome to the Little Dirty Devil Stampede - 5k Fun Run
For the first time we have been able to get permission for the junior members of the running community to be able to take part in this awesome event - AS LONG AS - they are accompanied by a responsible adult or 2!
This will be a non timed event enabling all members of the family to run around the muddy tank tracks and finish together covered in mud.
- Anyone 15 and over, can run around this event too without the pressure of being timed and being lapped by the racing snakes- this will be an event for all who want an introduction to mud running in a relatively safe environment.
Minimum age for this event is 8 - children aged between 8 and 14 will need to twist the arm of a responsible adult (adult must be 18 or over) to enter this race. No Adult - No Race.
This multi terrain run takes you around the iconic location of the Bovington Tank training ground, land reserved for army training only to which we have secured the ultimate in mud running events in the South West.
Located just 1 mile away from the amazing Bovington Tank Museum and just a few miles away from Monkey World there is plenty for the family to do while you get yourself tagged as one Dirty Devil.
The Dirty Devil Stampede is held over the Army’s vehicle testing tracks so expect it to be gritty and interesting! You encounter trails, hills, mud, a lot of water, the sheep dip and the knife edge! So whats not to like?
It’s tough, sure, but we know you wouldn’t like it any other way.
Come alone or badger some of your mates to get involved too, whatever you decided, we guarantee you will go away with a smile on your face and mud on your knees!
There are prizes for the top 3 Male & Female competitors.
Entries close when we sell out – and we will, so don’t delay. We’re sure you are tough enough – see you on the start line!
All distances are "ish" measurements and we will be guided by the army on the day if the routes need to change so be it - whatever race you choose we guarantee you'll enjoy it :)
You WILL NOT receive race numbers in the post as this is a non timed event, hence no need for race numbers.
