Weymouth Classic Triathlon 2022
05 June 2022
The Details
This is a great venue for our Classic and Sprint events, this is also the home of our weekly aquathlon events that run through the summer months.
Bowleaze cove has plenty of parking on offer plus the bonus of a fully functioning café on site, a fun fair only a walk a way for the children and young at heart and a slipway where we can launch our safety craft. The secure transition area is only a matter of 200m from the beach exit and less than 20m away from the competitors car parking. For those waiting for their loved ones on race day, Bowleaze Cove is a beautiful place to sit and relax, enjoy the views and grab a coffee or breakfast from the café. THIS WILL BE A SURF SWIM IF THE TIDE IS IN!

Weymouth Classic Triathlon Preview
This picturesque sea-swim triathlon is the perfect way to judge open-water skills, so why not give it a go next August? (now September) Where Bowleaze Cove, Dorset
The annual Weymouth Classic & Sprint Triathlon, is to be held at the picturesque Bowleaze Cove in Dorset. It’s one of BustinSkin’s premier events of the season and entries are now open so why not give it a try? Bowleaze Cove, Weymouth is one of the most beautiful seaside areas on the south coast, and the race begins with a mass start 1.5km swim in the English Channel. Wetsuits are compulsory and the choppy waters will provide your swimming technique with a thorough late-season examination. The 40km bike leg through the surrounding Dorset countryside is relatively undulating, and offers some stunning views. A particular highlight is the steady descent back into Weymouth, down White Horse Hill – on a clear day you can see for miles. When you get through T2 and embark on the 10km run your body will know it’s been tested, but you’ll need to leave plenty in the tank for the on/off-road sections that culminate in a bit of a climb to the finish. There’s a café on site at race base, plenty of off-road parking, and good facilities. The start and finish of the event is always well attended and you’ll receive loads of encouragement from the local spectators. But don’t let the stunning backdrop and top facilities fool you – this race is a real test.
