The Details
The Weymouth Triathlon event will consist of three separate races, a sprint, a classic and a Middle distance triathlon.
With race HQ based at Weymouth College, this is the ideal location for all of the family.
It is close to the Weymouth Sealife Centre and is within 500 meters of the very secure transition area, not to mention the beach. There are plenty of facilities, café, toilets and parking all within a couple of hundred meters of your bike. There is something for everyone at this event whether you are taking part or spectating, this one should be a must for your race diary.
The swim will be an open water affair in the beautiful blue waters of Weymouth Bay.
SWIM - Starting at 07:00, approximately 100 competitors at a time will start the race 15 minutes apart.
Open sea swim in Weymouth Bay in a 1 loop course around marker buoys.
We advise you to practice sea swimming before the event.
Safety craft will be in position and lifeguards are instructed to remove any competitor from the water who they consider in danger for whatever reason.
The rolling cycle course will be a fast one for all three events with the route taking in some breathtaking scenery. The bike route for the middle course will be taking place on mainly long flat'ish (as best we can do in Dorset!) roads.
EXTREME CARE at the start of the cycle section and on descents into Weymouth no heroes please! Also, on return to Preston Beach Traffic Lights DO NOT OVERTAKE cars near finish.
The run will be a short blast around the Lodmoor nature reserve for the sprint and Classic and just ever so slightly longer for the half.
The course comprises four laps of Weymouth and Lodmoor. Finishing in the Weymouth College Car Park at the rear of Lodmoor Country Park. There will be water/hydration stations approximately every 2/3 miles
All three events will have awards for the top three males and females and the top age grouper in each category.
Race mementos will be given to all who finish the race.

4. Refund & Deferral FAQ’s
This is what we hear all the time
- I’ve broken my ?????? – I want my money back
- I forgot I’d booked this – I haven’t done the training – I want my money back
- My wife/husband has double booked the day – I want my money back
- What a waste of my entry fee! – its not my fault I didn’t do any training or learn to swim or run or ride or read the race brief or look at website!!! I want my money back!!!!
Well, you see, its not our fault that you can no longer turn up to race that we’ve heavily invested in with your entry fees either – we are not in charge of your poor admin or you being a clumsy twonk out training!
So what’s your options –
Can I get a refund – Unfortunately no, NOT under any circumstances – Refunds don’t help with our cashflow, admin tasks, or hidden refund costs and our already sunk in to the event organising costs – put simply – refunds are not an option.
Can I defer to next year? – Unfortunately no, NOT under any circumstances – deferred entries just kick our financial problem into the future for us and many other event organisers – thus causing havoc a year later.
So what can I do if I can no longer make the event? – Thats simple and really easy – entry swaps – this means you will now be able to sell or pass on your entries to others, even up to a week before the event without any admin charges from us.
For all events starting in 2023 you can now enter a BustinSkin Events race knowing that your entry fee won’t go to waste – you can sell, swap, pass on, encourage, and support the races going ahead and it’s completely up to you how to do that.
A friend might be able to give you the money for it, or your club might be able to share the entry and someone else on the day pick it up.
As long as the ‘New’ participant registers the swap officially within the allotted time scales (swaps will close one week out from the event for admin reasons) then it enables a more flexible approach to race entries for everyone.
Events keep the money to be able to put the event on, and a runner/triathlete gets to take part in a race – it’s a win-win.
In fact – we encourage people who can’t make the race to swap to someone who can, and not waste the entry fee – this means we get more numbers turning up for events and a better race feel for everyone.
For 2023 FREE transfer of entries will be permitted up to and including 28 May after that, too late.
How to transfer or edit your race entry
- Log into your www.fullonsport.com account using your email address and password
- Once you are logged in, click on your username and select ‘my entries’
- Now you can click edit against the event entry you would like to transfer or edit
- You can now edit all of the data fields with the new participants details taking your place, however his/her entry will still stay under your Full On Sport account
- Once you have made the changes click save and the entry is now transferred or edited
Triathlon Transgender Guidance
From 1 January 2023, the updated British Triathlon Transgender policy will come into effect. The below guidance will support the implementation of the policy and serve to ensure that our sport continues to develop in being welcoming, supportive and inclusive for everyone. The guidance will support you in delivering your swim, bike and run activity in accordance with the new policy and in developing inclusive practices. The following core pillars are fundamental to the policy:
Triathlon is a gender affected sport and the policy aims to clarify how competitive activity can maintain fairness whilst ensuring our sport is accessible to all.For non-competitive activity, swim, bike, run and triathlon remains open, accessible and inclusive to everyone and participants are encouraged to participate in their self-identified gender.
For competitive activity for individuals above the age of 12 that is run in accordance with the British Triathlon Competition Rules and events permitted by British Triathlon, fairness of competition is paramount and so the policy stipulates a female category (open to athletes who are the female sex at birth) and an Open category (open to all, including male, transgender and non-binary individuals who were the male sex at birth) be provided.
